An
increasing number of companies are developing websites. You
can use these
sites to:
- look for
job postings or opportunities,
- research
the company before submitting a résumés and/or
to prepare for a job interview.
Professional association and union websites may have job
postings and membership lists useful for job searchers.
Some websites
publish salary and labour market survey results.
Please Note
Employer phone and fax numbers are not published on this website.
Information on the Internet is broadcast worldwide; therefore,
publication of that kind would result in too many inappropriate
calls to employers.
Local companies vary in size from one-person operations to
international corporations. Each company has preferred methods
to recruit employees,
post opportunities and receive résumés. Visit
the companies website and find out each companies preferred
method
of contact. It is usually found on a page on their site called:
Careers, Employment, or Jobs,
but there is also sometimes information about applying for
employment on their homepages.
Employers want to hear from those who have the skills, education,
training and experience to match their requirements. Many
do not have the time to explain those requirements in person
and
they rely on their websites to do this.
